Eric Belanger
Eric Belanger was born on December 16, 1977 in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Belanger says his parents are the people who inspired him to play hockey. Eric Belanger played amateur hockey in the QMJHL for Beauport before getting called up by the Los Angeles Kings. He scored 240 points in 192 games during three seasons in Beauport from 1994-96 and one with Rimouski from 1996-97. Belanger was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the fifth round of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. He was acquired by the Minnesota Wild as a free agent on July 4, 2007. Through 39 games with the Minnesota Wild, Eric Belanger has played in every game, scoring nine goals and tallying 17 assists for a total of 26 points. His best season was with Los Angeles in 2002-2003, when he played in 62 games but came up with 35 points on 16 goals. Belanger has played for multiple NHL organizations in his career, including the Kings, the Carolina Hurricanes, the Atlanta Thrashers and now he plays Minnesota Wild hockey. Eric Belanger resides in Quebec City, Quebec with his wife Alexandra and two children in the offseason. His enjoys golfing in his free time and loves playing in the Xcel Energy Center. His favorite food is sushi. His most memorable hockey moment is scoring his first career playoff goal as an overtime game-winner in 2001. Eric Belanger is a great forward for the Minnesot Wild.
