More Info
Pierre-Marc Bouchard was born on April 27, 1984 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. He began playing hockey at the age of four while also playing baseball, soccer and tennis at around the same age. His favorite team growing up was the Montreal Canadiens and his favorite player to watch was Wayne Gretzky.

Before drawing the eye of Minnesota Wild scouts, Pierre-Marc Bouchard skated for Chicoutimi of the QMJHL from 2000 to 2002. The center had a dazzling 2001-02 season for Chicoutimi, skating in 69 games and scoring 140 points on 46 goals and an uncanny 94 assists. From this season, Bouchard was chosen as Canadian Hockey League Player of the Year.

Soon after, Pierre-Marc Bouchard was drafted eighth overall by the Minnesota Wild in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. In his rookie season with the Wild, Bouchard became the second Wild rookie to post a point in a season-opening game after Marian Gaborik did it in 2000. Bouchard was sent down to Houston for the 2004-05 season, but was brought back up the following year and played in a solid 80 games while scoring 59 points for the Minnesota Wild. Overall, Bouchard has played in 273 NHL games and has netted 48 goals while picking up 110 assists for 158 points. He has a career plus/minus rating of +10 for the Wild.

In the offseason, Pierre-Marc Bouchard resides in Montreal, Canada. “Butch” likes to golf and play Sony Playstation when away from the rink. Bouchard has somewhat of a bizarre pre-game ritual, as he has to play soccer before every game. He likes to visit Vancouver while on the road and his favorite road arena is Staples Center, home of the Los Angeles Kings. His favorite group is Outkast.
